The steel framing is usually made of I Beam or tubing. Every piece of framing must be measured, cut, and welded together. Weld-up buildings are typically fabricated on the jobsite. This type of building is more commonly used by metal building contractors.
At OBR, our pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) are designed and engineered to reduce time and waste while maintaining quality. The bolt together components are pre-cut, pre-punched, and pre-fabricated in the shop allowing for quicker and easier assembly. The structural components of your PEMB consist of multiple parts: I beam or tapered frames, roof purlin and wall girts will either be Zee or Cee purlin. This building comes with a set of engineer-stamped plans.
At OBR, we love our hybrid buildings. This is a combination of a bolt-up metal building and a weld-up metal building. We cut your columns and rafters to pitch and weld on the purlin clips for you. You will have some welding and cutting to do of the purlins for your roof and walls. This makes for an easier assembly for someone who can do a little welding but wants a building package that goes together easily.
